Easy Yummy Crab Dip and Spread

I make this Easy Yummy Dip and Spread because it is delicious.  It is really simple and great for last minute.  .  It also spreads great on toasted baguette slices and can be used to stuff mushrooms and chicken for baking.  It is quick so having the ingredients on hand means you can whip it together for an unexpected guest in moments. I love it for serving at a football game party as a game watching snack. This crab dip is great on crackers or as a dip for chips

BEST APPETIZERS and DIPS

Cooking up snacks is one of my favorite things when adding food to celebrations, parties and everyday gatherings in our home. From after school snacks to tailgating – I love to be the snack mom. This crab recipe is one of six that I LOVE to make over and over. We make these for movie and game nights. They are all easy and delicious for parties and family snacking.

Layered Fiesta Spider Dip – We love this for Halloween and all things Mexican food.

Buffalo Ranch Dip – We LOVE this most when served with celery.

My Favorite Crab Recipe for Dip

Here is everything you need to know to make my favorite crab spread.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Onion Chopped
  • 1/2 Stick Butter (1/4 CUP)
  • 1 Block Cream Cheese (Softened)
  • 1 Can Crabmeat (1 CUP)
  • 1 CUP Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Directions for Easy Yummy Crab Dip and Spread

  1. Sautee onion in butter.
  2. Add all ingredients and mix completely.
  3. Put in shallow baking dish and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees until bubbly.
  4. Serve while hot.
  5. I mix it together in a bowl first then pour it into a baking dish for the cooking part.  Here it is…going in the oven. I love a good casserole dish that can be taken from the oven and party ready. I collect casserole dishes and baking pans because there is no such thing as too many in my opinion. (Sprinkling pepper on the top is optional.)Then I serve it right from the dish.

It doesn’t last long.  Here is the recipe if you want to print it out!

Serve dip with crackers or toasted bread. It is a great snack for game nights and movie night too. There are more ways to use this crab dip too if you are into fancy cooking. It works great as a filling to put inside fish (especially salmon). If you add bread crumbs or smashed crackers to it, it can be made into crab cake patties. I suggest you make some and go from there.
