This craft is simple enough for little hands with printable patterns, while creating a special and exciting craft project in the classroom.
It’s a fun way to combine creativity, Valentine exchanges, and a whole lot of smiles.

Classroom Valentine Box Craft

Kitty Cat Valentine Box Supplies
- Cracker Box, 14 oz. size – Recycled
- Colored Cardstock – White, Yellow, Black, Red
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Dollar Store
- Black Marker – Dollar Store
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Ruler

Hello Kitty Box Craft Directions
Using scissors, cut a rectangle approximately 1″ wide by 5″ long in the long side of the cardboard cracker box.

Trace the two short sides and the one long side of the cracker box onto white cardstock with a pencil.
TIP: You can also use Kunin Felt Craft Cuts, craft foam, or construction paper to complete this project.

Fit a second piece of white cardstock across the front of the box, then carefully fold the right side, left side, and top. Firmly crease the cardstock. Cut the cardstock and fold it into the open slot. Attach the folded cardstock to the cracker box.
TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

Cut three sides around the slot on the large rectangle and then glue it to the top of the cracker box. Fold the flap inside the slot.

Attach the two smaller white rectangles to the right and left sides of the cracker box with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Download, print, and cut out the HELLO KITTY PATTERNS at the bottom of this post. Trace the ear pattern twice onto white cardstock, the nose once onto yellow cardstock, the bow once onto red cardstock, trace the eye twice, and the whiskers twice onto black cardstock with a pencil.

Cut out the patterns with scissors, cutting inside the lines to create a clean finished project.

Fold the flap up on both ears, and crease firmly. Outline the nose and bow with a black marker, Use the photo as a guide.

Attach the ears to the top right and top left of the cracker box using a glue gun and glue sticks.

Glue the nose and eyes to Hello Kitty’s face. Use the leftover pattern as a template to place the whiskers on the face. Secure with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Secure the red bow to the front right of the box with a glue gun and glue sticks. To finish, add your child’s name to the mailbox using letter stickers or a marker before taking it into the classroom.
